Training ALERT: February, 25th (8am-1pm) - Elbert County Office of Emergency Management and Elizabeth Fire District are providing training to a newly developed Disaster Volunteer Team. Inquire at: ECPIO@elbertcounty-co.gov to learn how you can become a team member.

UPDATE: 2:01pm: CR 158 is now open. CORE trucks and workers are still on the road repairing the power lines, so please use caution and slow down as you pass by the intersection of County Road 158 and County Road 13. Power outages will likely continue for the next several hours.

UPDATE 1:38 pm: Eastbound lanes of CR 158 are now open. CORE electric vehicles continue to operate in the area to restore power.

County Road 158 Closure. County Road 158 is closed from Country Lane to County Road 13 due to downed power lines. CORE is currently on scene working. Power outages in the area are possible.

Elbert County will experience a moderate to high risk heat hazard (95-102F) today 6/17/22. At risk individuals include those who are outdoors working, exercising, the elderly, and those sensitive to high temperatures. Poor air quality will compound the hazard.
