Their purpose is to trap you get you buying too early or shorting too early so by the time the market is actually down 20–30%, your capital is already tied up. That’s how most people miss the real opportunity. I’d rather stay patient, wait for the real washout, and go heavy near the bottom. Then on the first higher low confirmation, that’s when you press.
