Dear Friends and Followers: We did it! Today we distributed 80 portions or so of the most delicious and nutritious ‘Hummus Fatteh’ to the poorest people of our encampment. As you know, we are all fasting and so the hummus will be enjoyed at sundown when we break our fast. It is hard to express the mutual joy of giving and receiving this simple food that transforms a basic meal of bread into something celebratory. I feel a deep sense of inner joy and satisfaction and I wish and hope to repeat this every day! The cost today was 1200 shekels ($360). Please make a donation now to cover the cost of today’s meal so that we may share food again tomorrow. Your donations are what made today possible. 📣📣Important Update!📣📣 Dear Friends and Followers: ⭕ Gaza is flooded again. 22mm of rain have fallen in the last 24 hours and 7mm more are expected. People’s tents have collapsed, their bedding is wet, they are drenched. ⭕ In the camp everyone is busy. My father is laying pipes for the first time! We are identifying the weak points and adjusting the direction and inclination and it is working!! This is my first bit of good news!! ⭕ I am not sure that we will be able to realise today’s distribution of ‘Hummus Fatteh’. Firstly, donations in the last 24 hours are stalled at $110 and we are still short of $265. Only 10 out of 45 family’s would receive a portion! In second place, there is much remedial work yet to be carried out before sundown but we will do our best to deliver if your donations come in! ⭕ For those who have been following us, I have the best news: Salam has returned to us after a 48-hour disappearance that broke our hearts. He ambled in this morning sodden, filthy and very hungry. We missed his soft purrs so much! Finally … a reminder and plea for your donations!
