@thomasmahler When @Skystone_Games took on AfterQuest, I was so nervous to talk game design with the legendary @davidbrevik but he was so humble and welcoming. Made me feel more like an equal than I ever expected (even though I have so much to learn).

I just wrapped up GDC by having a last dinner with some more industry legends that made me feel like a very small fish, but the one thing that always strikes me is that the really amazing talent that actually did the work and got the scar tissue to prove it always remains approachable and down to earth. There's never bravado, surprisingly little ego, just folks still being super passionate about their work and more than happy to share their knowledge with others. I know the common phrase is 'Never meet your heroes', but I've met quite a few of my heroes and I've always come away deeply impressed, quite humbled and even more inspired to hopefully reach their level at some point. Let's all strive to be like that.
