I’m trying to help you understand the fan perception. We were told the entire season that we were budgeting to retain a “big 4” that included both Jimmy and Tobias. We didn’t know as much as we know now. Many saw it how I layed it out in the other tweet. I’m telling you that’s *why* he didn’t get one in the moment. Sixers fans have been fluctuating between misery and indifference for at least 2-3 years now, and McCain was a breath of fresh air. Pretty easy to see why fans might’ve reacted drastically different in these 2 situations.
