On October 28, 2023, I was home so sick that I could barely stand up. My little brother wasn't at home, which left only me at home sick, and I was so weak that I was forced to text my then-girlfriend Gloria, explain how I was feeling snd asked if she could come over and be with me for a couple days. But she told me she wouldn't be able to come. According to her, she was busy, and since it was just normal malaria, I should be able to cope, in her words. So I texted one of my female friends, Imisi, who at that time already had a liking for me and had even asked me out, which I declined because I was in a serious relationship. I explained things to her, and she came over to my place that very day. She was with me for another three days, taking care of me and helping me out around the house. The fourth day, which was the day Imisi was supposed to leave my place, was when my girlfriend came without prior notice and saw her. I was wearing only boxers with no shirt on, and she was wearing only panties and a tube top because she was about to take her bath. When my girlfriend walked in and saw us, she just flair up and started ranting, shouting, and cursing me out. She went to pick up a machete and said she would cut Imisi into multiple pieces. And to make matters worse, Imisi was daring her to cut her, and I was just there trying to calm both of them down. Before I knew what was happening, I felt a sharp pain in my back with blood gushing out. It turned out that Gloria had tried to strike Imisi with the machete, and that was the exact moment I came in between them, it happen so fast that i donโ€™t even know. Omo, I thought I would die that very day because I was so much in intense pain. I was later rush to the nearest chemist and they help with the stitching up. A day i can never forget ๐Ÿ˜…

And the useless governor of edo state will rather watch all his citizens kiIIed and ki6na99ed before doing anything about insecurity in his backyard.

The Attack on the GUO Bus Along Beninโ€“Ore Expressway: Condemnable. I received the devastating report of a violent attack on a GUO transport bus travelling along the Beninโ€“Ore Expressway, where armed kidnappers reportedly ambushed the vehicle, killed the driver, and abducted all passengers into a nearby bush. Sadly, this has become an increasingly distressing and recurring story. This is yet another heartbreaking reminder of the worsening insecurity on our highways and across the nation. No society can truly thrive under such conditions of fear and uncertainty. The impact of this crisis now cuts across all sectors of national life and development. Small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) are being severely affected. Transporters are losing passengers, while traders and business owners are losing customers who can no longer travel safely to access goods and services. Economic activity is being quietly strangled by insecurity. We must urgently confront this situation and take decisive steps to improve security across the country, especially for ordinary Nigerians who cannot afford the option of air travel. We must rethink and strengthen our national security architecture. The protection of lives and property must remain the foremost responsibility of the state. Anything less is unacceptable. May God protect our people and grant comfort to the families of those affected. -PO

Today in Barki Ladi, Plateau State, I saw something that truly broke me. Women protestingโ€ฆ scattering a military checkpointโ€ฆ saying they donโ€™t want soldiers in their community anymore. The same soldiers who left their homes, their families, their comfortโ€ฆ just to come and stand between you and danger. Men from different tribes. Different religions. Different parts of Nigeria. All united by one duty to protect lives that are not even their own. And this is how we say thank you? It hurts. Because one thing many civilians donโ€™t understand is this: The military does not work with hatred or bias. You donโ€™t punish an entire tribe because of the crime of a few. You donโ€™t kill innocent people because they share the same identity as criminals. Yes, there are criminals. Yes, there are bandits. But there are also innocent, law-abiding citizens among them people who even risk their lives to give information and help security forces. Iโ€™ve seen it myself. During operations, weโ€™ve handled cases where herders destroyed crops we intervened, arrested offenders, and ensured justice was served. That is how it is done. With discipline. With law. With humanity. Chasing soldiers away wonโ€™t bring peace. It wonโ€™t end the problem. If anythingโ€ฆ it leaves you more exposed. There are many ways to solve a crisis but this is not one of them. This is not just disappointingโ€ฆ it is heartbreaking. Kudos to the gentleman on ground who remained professional even in face of an ungrateful situation like this. Nigeria, we can do better. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ
