For #WorldRhinoDay2020 I wanted to bring attention to @OlPejeta which houses the last two Northern White Rhinos in the world, Najin + Fatu. I was fortunate enough to speak with Dr. Ngulu, head vet at the conservancy about the work they're doing. That episode will be out soon!

Its death was just 128 years after thylacines were scientifically described in 1808. Tasmanians started the first bounty for killing #thylacines in 1830. They were accused of killing sheep - something we now know rarely happened. Extinction was the result. #ThreatenedSpeciesDay

The Good With the Bad episode to round out August is a wonderful interview with @LaikenJordahl from @CenterForBioDiv. We talk about the environmental and cultural impacts of the wall being built along the US/Mexico border. Out Aug 31 #NoWall

A dark day in the history of #thylacines: on this day in 1884, farmers in eastern #Tasmania met to form the Buckland and Spring Bay Tiger and Eagle Extermination Society, establishing a bounty of £5 for each adult #thylacine killed. The last known thylacine died 52 years later.

The podcast is approaching 2,000 plays. I never thought that my little podcast would get past 100 plays. I am so grateful that others are interested in these stories. Thank you, everyone!!
