You seem content investing time into trashing other people's takes despite knowing how ignorant you are. "Don't have time to scout" is a cop out for not taking 5 mins to pull up any report on the player.

@WestSportsPT I don't have the time to scout. It was just the "traits" comment that got me triggered. GMs tend to get fired sooner or later for that type of approach. If his tape is good and his production dipped for extraneous circumstances, just for a year or so, that's fine by me.

Tbf this doesn’t tell us much when most years the oldest player in Rd 1 is usually 22/23. Guys like Mesidor etc are exceptions that we can’t really use past selections to determine a pattern. Pretty sure the oldest 1st Rounder last year was Warren and he was 22. In 2024 the outlier was Bo Nix who was 24. But he was in the middle of those COVID seasons so could stay longer.

Greg. That is simply untrue. Bears did spend cash last year within the Top 10. But looking 5 year glance, they rank in the bottom quartile of teams. Some of lower cash spending is to be expected early in a full scrape & rebuild. But even if you ignore 2022 as an outlier, they still would be near or below league average vs. “one of the highest spending teams in the league.” The Bears aren’t the Browns.

@DaveKluge Bears were an interesting case in that many of the injuries happened beginning of the year and were soft tissue. Would be curious to see more context.

A term I heard Ben Johnson and Ryan Poles use a lot last preseason was “calloused up.” Their philosophy is that a hard training camp leads to tougher bodies and fewer in-season injuries. The Bears had 336 games missed to injury this year, most in the NFL.

@IrishBearsShow Jaelan was one of the few players who appreciated Vic before the Dolphins mutually jettisoned him for being too "old school" and is a big reason why he wanted to go to Philly. It's one of the reasons I haven't even considered him as I suspect they find a way to make it work.

I’d want to see reports from more credible reporters before assuming Bears have any interest in Jalen Carter Regardless, why is Howie Roseman reportedly wanting to move of a 24 year old DT in his prime? Does that not sound alarm bells off lol?
