@rajuvamsi007 @AustinsStocks They chose not to use advanced cameras & more importantly chose not to use multi-mode sensing, especially modes such as LiDAR with high precision ranging. Sure they can admit they were wrong and start over (like they're doing with xAI).

@Eric_Solberg @AustinsStocks They can use really really good cameras + the most advanced AI that will fix all sensor problems

For a long time, I’ve been saying that Waymo will not have a problem scaling, and that Tesla fans expectations (fed to them by Elon), have not matched the reality. Nine months after the robotaxi “launch”, the reality for some is starting to take hold - Tesla was never going to be able to launch 30 cities at once - they are struggling with 1 city. They never were just “one software update away”. My pushback wasn’t because I’m a pessimist or I don’t like Elon - the pushback was rooted in the Grand Canyon-sized disconnect between what was promised and what was delivered. I don’t like seeing people get sold a dream. $TSLA

For a long time I’ve been saying that $TSLA is going to destroy Waymo with its Robotaxi rollout and become #1 in short order but I could’ve never guessed that nearly a year after Robotaxi launch, Tesla Robotaxis are still non-existent (they have like 10 of them now!?) and Waymo is still outpacing their growth. What is the holdup with Robotaxis?

@rajuvamsi007 @AustinsStocks Thats meaningless if the sensors aren't capable of accurate measurements with enough sigmas of reliability. Musk's vision only commitment was a bold move, but ultimately the wrong one. It is a failure.

@Eric_Solberg @AustinsStocks You realize that the safest drivers are the most experienced drivers? Safety comes with experience. It's just a matter of compute, compute and more compute with real world edge cases.

@rajuvamsi007 @AustinsStocks What I see, as an engineer and as a customer, is they have hit a wall with vision. What they've accomplished is amazing- I give them credit for that. But no amount of data, compute, or training is going to fix the physical limitations of their platform.

@rajuvamsi007 @AustinsStocks These "just try HW4" posts are getting so strange. How many billions of miles have you driven to "make up your mind"? And what bearing does this have on reality? Has Tesla not "made up their mind"? Why don't they "flip the switch"? Why all the broken promises?

@AustinsStocks I would strongly suggest you use HW#4 for 48 hours and then make up your own mind. Don't read stuff on the Internet and believe people - not even me!!

@GordonJohnson19 @GLJ_Research @elonmusk That kind of does not make sense - clearly FSD works in that it can drive form a to b without intervention most of the time. Is your argument that if it cannot work 100% of the time at this moment in time then it can never improve to work to meet that standard?

Even the $TSLA cult is beginning to see the truth - vision-only simply does NOT WORK. @GLJ_Research firmly blvs @elonmusk made a grave mistake putting out "FSD" in Austin 6/25, thus putting an expiration date on "FSD" ramping. The cult is beginning to have "the realization".
TESLARATI@Teslarati

I’m just going to say it and I know I’ll get some hate for it, but v14.2.2.5 is the worst FSD release since v14. Constantly in the wrong lane, a lot of weird maneuvers, so many additional nav errors, routing, speed control, parking, and that’s just to name a few. v14.3 cannot come soon enough.

📈 @Waymo is growing like crazy 500,000 rides per week, doubling in just 11 months At a ~$500M revenue run-rate 💵 When does @Robotaxi catchup? ⚡️

@JPINVESTS23 @TSLAFanMtl So you're saying someone at Tesla just isn't doing their job? Or they keep forgetting to file the paperwork? Seriously, don't you think about this for even a minute? Do you really have enough data to claim autonomy? Why isn't Tesla claiming it? Maybe they have more data than you.

@Eric_Solberg @TSLAFanMtl The car drives itself for thousands and thousands of miles without need for a human intervention. You should test drive one for a few days. You wont need to touch the wheel. The technology would work whether you are in the driver’s seat or the trunk. What do you say to that?

FSD is only adopted by a small % of people who buy a Tesla - and that's only 2% of people who buy a car. Clearly this is a combination of the consumer not seeing the value - even at $99/month - and not being aware. Tesla is trying to increase awareness with some ads - but it's not nearly enough - but the rate limiter is that most early adopters have been converted and FSD still needs to get a lot better before it goes mainstream.

FSD Supervised isn’t limited to select highways or specific conditions – it works wherever it’s available It can handle your daily commute or drive you across the country

@JPINVESTS23 @TSLAFanMtl Sure it’s up to them. There’s a process and paperwork to file. Tesla hasn’t filed the paperwork yet. What are they waiting for? And when the product is literally called “FSD Supervised” I don’t think I’m the one making dumb claims here. You are not living in reality.

@JPINVESTS23 @TSLAFanMtl You really don’t see it do you? If the only barrier is legality of not supervising, why doesn’t Tesla simply finish the job and get it legalized? Shouldn’t they fulfill the promise if all they have to do now is some paperwork?

@Eric_Solberg @TSLAFanMtl The technology does not require my supervision. Only legally. It is simple. I could sleep in the back seat and the tech would get me there 100% of the time. Use your brain.

@JPINVESTS23 @TSLAFanMtl My personal experience isn’t relevant- Tesla has not even tried to take the steps to make FSD anything more than L2. There’s a reason for that.

@JPINVESTS23 @wy12322413546 @TSLAFanMtl You don’t do much actual thinking, do you? What is required for it to be “legal”? What steps has Tesla taken to achieve this status? What steps haven’t they taken and why? Elon Musk has a long string of broken promises- what is different this time?

@garyblack00 @TSLAFanMtl The problem is a ton of people don't care about self driving. I'm a big Tesla fan and a big tech fan. I love what FSD can do. However, I hardly ever use it. I know there are a ton of owners like me
