🚨I have a feeling the Elliot Anderson saga won’t be solved anytime soon — this one looks like it drags on until after the World Cup. For Nottingham Forest and their owner Evangelos Marinakis, it makes zero sense to rush into negotiations when they don’t even know whether they’ll be in the Premier League or the Championship next season. There’s no urgency to sell, and the price will likely depend on that — plus how they perform in Europe, with a big game tonight against Porto. From Anderson’s side, it also makes total sense to wait. He’s one of the most wanted midfielders in Europe right now, and both Manchester City and Manchester United still have uncertainty around their long-term managers. On top of that, it’s a World Cup year — the worst time to rush a big decision. If he has a strong tournament, bigger doors could open. Clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich could enter the race… Journalists will push updates and “breakthrough” stories over the next few weeks, but this feels like one that goes deep into the summer — and probably gets decided after the World Cup.
