@chrislittlewoo8 @Graeme34923955 I wish I could disagree, but all of those points are valid. Countless blocked drains, pot holes a plenty and generally untidy places across Exeter

Can someone tell me what I’m actually paying for?
My latest council tax bill has arrived. £330 a month.
For what?
We still have to pay extra just to have the garden waste collected.
The roads are knackered, the drains are blocked, and every time it rains the streets flood.
The local town is now devoid of shops because business rates and parking charges have made it almost impossible to trade and expensive for people to visit.
So where is the money going?
Councils spend tax revenue on vanity projects like cycle lanes that might see a bike once a decade and disability parking bays that sit empty most of the time.
Meanwhile the services we actually rely on continue to decline.
We are expected to pay more and more for less and less.
And at the same time we all see public money being spent on people who entered this country illegally and have never contributed.
So I’ll ask again.
What exactly are we paying for?
The whole system is broken.

@exQUIZitely I remember those screens well and the trial and error of the sound and display options until you got it right.

@exQUIZitely Same for me, I tried to carry on playing but cataclysm ruined it for me.

World of Warcraft launched in 2004.
When did you first step into it? What was your favourite expansion, and when did you leave (or do you still play)?
I started in 2005 (European servers), my favourite expansion was The Burning Crusade, and I left for good after trying Cataclysm for 2–3 weeks... it just lost its magic. Did it ever get it back?

Lemmings turned 35 this year (a few days ago)...
Not just one of the most unique games ever, but also one of the best. When Lemmings hit the market in February 1991, it felt like a completely new concept - something never done before. At least I don’t remember any game that came even remotely close.
On top of that, it had an incredibly gorgeous style, beautiful graphics, the cutest animated pixel characters, and one of gaming history’s most recognizable soundtracks. I remember one review giving it a 99% rating with the comment that “we need to leave the 1% off so there’s room for something better - if it ever comes” (paraphrased). In all the years since, you’d have a hard time finding a more unique concept that’s also so very playable.
The early levels are super easy, basically a walk in the park, gently introducing the idea and controls. But once you reach the later levels, boy, does it get tough. It never felt unfair, though - the key was smart usage and timing of the different Lemming types. That’s why the game was also great with friends: you’d sit around the screen and try to figure out the best strategy together.
Lemmings became one of the most sold games ever on the Amiga. Deservedly so. This game is timeless and 99% perfection.
