If you're joining the #WWE2K26 mod community this year, welcome. There are a lot of talented creators who target all eras of wrestling (I'm an ROH/AEW guy).
What should never be normalized is leaking paid content and bragging about it because of grudges or parasocial nonsense. It hurts creators and damages the whole community.
Do not be like these people. This behavior is not something to copy, defend, or excuse.
@dotGrix I mean if you mod a wrestler in to a game. And charge for it. You haven't paid for their likeness and aren't giving any of your proceeds to them. Its wrong to charge for that (not sure if anyone charges for wrestlers) and is grounds to be shut down. But free people look away.
@dotGrix Meh maybe. Again. Like I said in all for patreon. And throwing some cash a modders way when you can. I encourage that. Just dont believe you should have to pay for a mod upfront. I think it holds the scene back and brings unwanted attention from IP holders.
@dotGrix So if i pay for mod a it needs to work flawlessly (within reason). I paid real money for it. But free mod breaks or breaks something it's ok. Its free. I can nicely ask the community for help and most are willing. (In every circle there are modders who despise mod users)
@dotGrix I will use Fallout 4 as another example. Been in that scene for ten years. Never had to pay for anything. From basic outfits and weapons to total conversion mods overhauls and entire new games. I would never pay for those because any combination can just break.
@_seedneyy_@80sWrestling_ Moments aren't box office. Pops aren't money. No one is denying Austin was mega over. But his DRAW time, as in profits made was very short. That was my point. Austin wasn't drawing anything in 2000 because he was out 80 percent of the year. By 2001 the audience is much smaller.
@TxM_CDF@dotGrix Oh you are another 2k modder. Again you guys would be run out of any other true mod scene. The wwe games mod scene will never truly grow when everyone from the ground up wants to charge.
@dotGrix But not ok when I pay. I have sent a few bucks to Fallout modders before because I was happy with their work. But you would be nuts to pay for a Fallout or Skyrim mod. Ive been in the modding scene over a decade. Never seen the bs that goes on in the wwe mid scene.
@dotGrix You are comparing all of the sims "official" stuff packs and nonsense by EA to fan mods? There are thousands of free mods for the sims. Terrible comparison. I LIKE the idea of supporting a modder by sending them a few bucks. But not to pay for the actual mod.
@dotGrix You shouldn't be getting paid either way for mods. The WWE 2K modding community is so greedy that it makes me fully understand why WWE 2K are the way they are. Bc if even the community is charging each other, why shouldn't they cash in?
@MasteroftheTDS Yup. And if the show is bad and has diminishing viewership they will blame it on bigotry in the audience. We have played this game over and over the last 6 years
Second look at Paapa Essiedu as Snape in HBO’s Harry Potter series.
People can no longer keep claiming this was purely about casting the best person for the role. If that were true, they would have cared whether he actually looked like Snape. They clearly did not.
That means this was intentional.
The people in charge knew exactly what they were doing, and they knew it would be controversial.
