AIG Olatunji Disu takes over as head of FCID Annex Assistant Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu has assumed duty as the 55th AIG in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos. His appointment takes effect from 9 February 2026. He succeeds AIG Margaret Ochalla, who is currently attending a short-term professional training programme in the United States. A native of Lagos State, AIG Disu is a senior police officer with over three decades of experience in operational, investigative and strategic policing. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from Lagos State University, multiple Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Criminology, Security and Legal Psychology, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Investigation. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 and has since served in key leadership roles nationwide, including Commander of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, Head of the Intelligence Response Team, Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, and AIG in charge of the Special Protection Unit. His leadership of the Rapid Response Squad between 2015 and 2021 earned national and regional recognition for urban crime control and operational excellence. Speaking on assumption of duty, AIG Disu said he was “excited to be in Lagos” and thanked the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the confidence reposed in him. “I appreciate the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, for counting me worthy of this opportunity to serve in this capacity,” he said. He pledged a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and promised to strengthen the operational and investigative capacity of the FCID Annex, while calling on stakeholders, sister agencies and the public to support the police in the fight against crime and the promotion of justice. @FCID_ANNEX @TunjiDisu1

FORCE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT, ANNEX, LAGOS DIG FCID VISITS FCID ANNEX, ALAGBON, LAGOS; CHARGES OFFICERS ON PROFESSIONALISM, EFFECTIVE SUPERVISION AND EXCELLENCE IN INVESTIGATION The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department , DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar,mni, on 3rd February, 2026, paid a working visit to the FCID Annex, Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, as part of his statutory oversight and supervisory responsibilities aimed at strengthening investigative standards and enhancing operational efficiency within the Nigeria Police Force. During the visit, the DIG FCID charged commissioned officers of the Department to make significant and positive contributions in their respective areas of responsibility and to continually project the Nigeria Police Force and the FCID in good light, stressing that the FCID remains the apex of criminal investigation in Nigeria. He further directed commissioned officers to ensure close supervision of their subordinates in order to entrench discipline, accountability, and strict adherence to extant rules and procedures. The DIG commended officers and men of the Command for their sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering commitment to duty despite operational challenges, assuring them that their efforts are recognised and appreciated. The DIG emphasised that land ownership-related disputes are purely civil in nature and should not be investigated by the Police, except where elements of crime such as fraud, threat to life, or violence are established. Officers were also admonished to always harmonise cases and avoid parallel investigation of the same matter in different sections, so as to prevent duplication of efforts and promote efficiency. He reiterated the importance of professionalism, integrity, and strict compliance with established standards in the discharge of duties, noting that all officers are working towards a common goal of supporting the Inspector-General of Police in achieving his mission and vision of a better, more effective, and safer Nigeria.
