Lawmakers gave public schools new money in 2019 trusting that districts would spend it wisely. They did just that with 81% going to non-admin pay, either raises or new positions, and just 1.93% going to central admin pay, including both the cost of raises and new positions.

Like lawmakers, TX school districts prioritize teachers, the most impactful factor in student success other than parents. That's why teacher pay is the largest expense in school districts across the state and central admin pay is the smallest portion of district payroll budgets.

Our communities value teachers, but they need better pay, support, and respect. Great educators are key to student success, so we need to invest in them. Raising the basic allotment ensures a pay increase for teachers statewide. #FundSchoolsFirst #txlege
