Beautiful SenIor PUMA is a former stray. This handsome boy is being overlooked for adoption.!
Jack5928@JLthekid9999

🆘🆘 PUMA (ID 248368), 8 YO, MALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 3/10/2026.🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/26/26 ➡️ SENIOR ALERT ➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️➡️🆘🆘 5TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 14 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ PUMA IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - Puma is a middle aged cat with elevated kidney values consistent with kidney disease. He is also overweight and has dental disease. Puma will need follow up with a veterinarian with placement. This evaluation/diagnosis means that PUMA will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. Puma is at the front of the kennel meowing loudly. He greets the assessor with a high tail and immediately nudges against their hand, head bunting intensely. The assessor allows Puma to pet himself against their hand as his tail begins to swish back and forth quickly. When pet along his body, his tail continues to swish. Puma puts his front paws on the assessor's shoulders and attempts to climb into their arms, while head bunting and purring. He allows to be picked up and held, and once set back down continues to attempt to push his way out of the kennel to solicit attention. The assessor redirects him with a liquid treat that he eats readily, and a few toys that he rolls around with once the kennel door is closed. Puma interacts with the observer, solicits and appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

Mystic MILO was released from a home with too many pets to care for. He needs to find a truly comfy home asap.
Jack5928@JLthekid9999

🆘🆘 MYSTIC (ID 247322), 5 YO, MALE– IN STATEN IUSLAND ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 2/19/2026, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/26/26 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️➡️🆘🆘 5TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 34 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ MYSTIC IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS -He remains in his den throughout the day when staff are present and has displayed defensive behaviors when approached. When staff lift the den cover to check on him, he responds with hissing, lunging, and swatting. When a scratcher tool is presented, he growls and avoids interaction. Given these behaviors, it is in Mystic’s best interest to transition out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as soon as possible, as he does not appear to be thriving in the shelter setting. Medically, he appears healthy at this time. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Meet Mystic 🖤 Mystic is a quiet, independent adult cat who is looking for a calm, adult-only home. He can be timid and skittish, especially in new situations, and will need time and patience to adjust to a new environment. He is not aggressive but prefers space when he feels unsure. An experienced adopter who can move at his pace, offer high-value treats, and use gentle positive reinforcement will help him build confidence and trust. With understanding and a peaceful home, Mystic has the potential to slowly blossom into a rewarding companion. Mystic is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is very apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she does attempt to flee and avoid human contact. It is difficult to predict if he will respond to socialization but we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people.❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you

She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: I have lived with cats in my previous home. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. Mia tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. One can understand why Jennie is miffed. Who names their handsome boy Jennie or Sue?? Jenkins, Jarhead, James, Justice-but never Jennie!
Jack5928@JLthekid9999

🆘🆘 JENNIE (ID 247814), 2 YO, MALE– IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an aco - owner surrender on 2/18/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- eviction. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/24/26 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️🆘🆘 4TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 33 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ JENNIE IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is an under socialized adult cat, not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have lived with cats in my previous home. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. Jennie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you

Pineapple looks starved for affection & the kindness he's been deprived of.
Jack5928@JLthekid9999

🆘🆘 PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE (ID 244794), 5 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 2/17/2026, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/24/26 ➡️ NEW HOPE PARTNER RESCUE ONLY ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 34 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKEIS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He has warmed up to staff using treats to build a positive association; however, he displays signs of overstimulation or high arousal and has a bite/scratch history This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: Pineapple Upside Down Cake is an adorable, five-year-old orange tabby. He has a beautiful face and sweet green eyes with which he gazed at me softly when he came forward and parked himself loaf-style to get a better look at me. He was a quick study with a squeeze-up and definitely enjoys his food. He seems like he'd be a willing playmate, but proved a bit afraid of the red laser and the cat dancer. I think both were foreign to him. Others have reported that he can get overstimulated. In my estimation, he's also easily scared. Pineapple talked back to me a bit when I started to sing to him, which I found pretty winning. I wonder if other visitors would have the same experience. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you
