When we practice the instructions of Vajrayogini practice we quickly receive great and profound blessings from all the Buddhas. These blessings help us temporarily, and eventually enable us to attain the ultimate goal of full enlightenment. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

The two stages of the practice of Vajrayogini were originally taught by Buddha Vajradhara. He manifested in the form of Heruka to expound the 'Root Tantra of Heruka', and it was in this Tantra that he explained the practice of Vajrayogini. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

We should know that living beings have many different capacities for spiritual understanding and practice. For this reason, out of his compassion, Buddha the Blessed One gave teachings on many levels. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

When we understand the union of the two truths we see that functioning things exist as mere imputation, and that it is the merely imputed I that creates karma, experiences suffering, and so forth. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Mahayana paths can also be called ‘grounds’ because just as the ground acts as the basis for the growth of plants, trees and crops, so spiritual grounds are the basis for all spiritual qualities.

Mahayana paths are called ‘paths’ because just as external paths lead us to our destination, so these internal paths lead us to our ultimate destination, full enlightenment.

Buddha lineage/seed is the root mind of a sentient being, and its ultimate nature. Buddha lineage, Buddha seed and Buddha nature are synonyms. All sentient beings have Buddha lineage and therefore have the potential to attain Buddhahood. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

An ordinary being is anyone who has not realized emptiness directly. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gytso

Ultimate truth is the ultimate nature of all phenomena, emptiness. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Conventional truth is any phenomenon other than emptiness. Conventional truths are true with respect to the minds of ordinary beings, but in reality they are false. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Wisdom can be divided into wisdom realizing conventional truths and wisdom realizing ultimate truths. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

It is always possible to be patient; there is no situation so bad that it cannot be accepted patiently, with an open, accommodating, and peaceful heart. When patience is present in our mind it is impossible for unhappy thoughts to gain a foothold. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Patience is a mind that is able to accept whatever occurs. It is much more than just gritting our teeth and putting up with things.Being patient means to welcome wholeheartedly whatever arises, having given up the idea that things should be other than what they are ~Geshe Kelsang

In samsara we are not in control of what happens to us. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Since it is impossible to fulfil all our desires or to stop unwanted things happening to us, we need to find a different way of relating to frustrated desires and unwanted occurrences. We need to learn patient acceptance. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

In samsara we are not in control of what happens to us. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

However, try as we might, we cannot prevent unpleasant things happening to us. We cannot promise that for the rest of the day nothing bad will happen to us; we cannot even promise that we will be alive to see the end of the day. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
