Today is National Pet Fire Safety Day, and it’s important to remember to include your furry family members into your emergency plan should a fire ever occur. Each year, more than 50,000 pets are affected by house fires, with 1,000 house fires started by the pets themselves.

Today the Corona Fire Department responded to the 2000 block of California Ave. for a confined space rescue in a storm drain. A CFD Rescue Technician made access to the patient and pulled him to safety. The victim was medically assessed and released with no injuries.
