I'm 'bout to start some beef here, so I apologize in advance - this isn't an attack on anyone specific, I'm just using this post as an example. Can we not post this computer generated stuff, please? If it's for personal amusement, please don't post or share it so flippantly onkine. You're encouraging others to do it and it'll be putting artists out of a job quite soon. You're helping quickly kill the industry that helps keep this fandom alive. I am personally affected by this kind of stuff, so I'm making a point of vocalizing my concerns so that I feel I'm being heard. I don't speak for all artists, but I know my opinions here may resonate with many, both artist and art-enjoyer. I completely understand the joys of playing with Ai. It's cool as hell and makes for great fun to stare at; one could say it's very amusing, and I'd be inclined to agree. The problem with sharing it publicly, however, is that it's normalizing it all as a valid alternative to supporting real artists. It's showing people that this an ok and safe practice; "it's completely harmless, don't worry about it - everyone's doing it." While I'd be inclined to agree that it really isn't harming anyone, I feel obligated to vocalize the problem with this mentality in that it's contributing to the problem that all digital artists - and likely many traditional artists - are currently facing: Ai-generated imagery is stealing from artists, could easily destroy the artistic market entirely due to it taking future work away from artists, and is normalizing corporate control over human creativity. One could argue that it allows more people who are not artists to create from their own imagination; people could say it's putting more power in the hands of the common individual to have access to art when art is so expensive. I will not refute that. My main goal here is to make people aware that posting your "amusement" online is what's feeding that industry. It's giving more reason for investors to dump cash into the "artistic" Ai that steals from artists' works to create some sort of something. Being a realist, I can see the benefits of Ai as a tool and as a method of simplifying one's work flow; however, I think there are lines that shouldn't be crossed. Unfortunately, I have no control over what people do; I have no right to force anyone to stop. But I do have a voice and I have the right to speak freely; I will say that I feel this is a damaging practice and I want to point out the things that we can stop doing to prevent art from being a corporately-run industry. We should stop incentivizing and encouraging people to support Ai-based image generators that are used for commercial purposes; we should stop posting our own personal dabblings with these robots, as it announces a valid market for them. We should be supportive of our artists in this community and share their artwork, and even commission them if it's in the budget; obviously not everyone's wallets can support an artist, but sharing their creations should be a feesible request. We should be aware that the only intentions the corporations have with Ai are to make money and do that however they see fit. There is no end goal with Ai art, it's simply a cash-grab for them to make mad dollars and stuff their pockets until the industry dies or until nothing more comes from it. Corporations don't care about individuals; they'd do away with humanity quicker than we could blink if it were legal. We've taken the humanity out of so many things already; why would we want to take the humanity out of art? Is that not one of the most fundamental things that makes us human? I don't want to get all philosophical, but I feel like there needs to be more care taken when it comes to these things. So please, don't contribute to the slow suffocation of our artists, especially those of this community; we've got it tough enough as it is with the dying economy, we don't need you taking away more.

@EuphoriTori I'm actually an abortion, i was removed before the end of the pregnancies term, i survived. It's not murder if the only reason they don't survive is because they weren't yet alive. once they are alive, and not relying entirely on umbilical life support they'll survive like I did.
