It's sad, for a moment I thought Zalal would defeat a washed up 36 year old fighter, after the great fight he put up against Ilia, definitely only Ilia can do it against old washed up fighters.

Koโd a nobody like Herbert and Hall doesn't generate as much excitement among fans as knocking out an old legend, it's such an easy point. That's how fans are these days, they jump on the hype train when everything is going uphill. The difference with Ilia is that he koโd big names.

I saw all of that too and even if we look at past fights or go to Wikipedia, for today Ilia feels comfortable knocking out the older ones, who have had a thousand battles and with a prime that vanishes due to father fime.
The fight against young Zalal and old Emmett was very difficult for Ilia, but he won. So why wouldn't it be valid for us to have any doubts about how a fight would unfold against those he avoids. LOL! ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

@GASBLAZ Hey paddy had his chance -lost to gaethje, arman had his chance-pulled out Islam fight, and at 145 Movsar was a pull out merchant. I understand your point. But itโs also the way he finishes those fights. He outperforms expectations everytime against all those guys.

Everything you say is fine, but the point is that Ilia didn't fight against contenders who were rightfully due to challenge for the title. But as you say, it's not his fault maybe it's the company's fault which loves to put fights with poll winners.

Hmm, what you say is valid but it's like saying Volkanovski took the fight too soon against Ilia when he was coming off a knockout loss to Majรกchev and Oliveira was coming off a streak of 3 losses and 1 win.

@GASBLAZ They might be older but those legends arenโt washed in fact , immediately after getting KOd by ilia all of those fighters got a win in their very next fight. Usually youโll see older fighters have a losing streak which is not the case here.

If Ilia hadn't defeated and knocked out these old legends, who let's be honest have most likely already passed their prime, Ilia would not be enjoying the propaganda surrounding him today and he knows it, that's why his criticisms of Pimblett are like that, he's facing the most veteran of these legends and it would be a shame if he lost against Gaethje.
If you watch Ilia's fights before, you'll see that he had fights where everything he says isn't what he claims to be as a fighter.

We can't deny that Ilia is a very talented fighter but on social media he says all sorts of things. We can't forget that he said he was vacating the belt before fighting Tsarukyan. Who the hell cares what they do outside the octagon. What matters to us MMA fans is seeing fights between the best and he'll keep avoiding this fight. LMAO!!!
