The very 1st adult horror I ever read was @StephenKing's THE SHINING at 9 yrs old. I helped a kid with his homework, in exchange borrowed his older brother's book illicitly. Read it under the covers by flashlight—terrifying & titillating. I dreamed of writing horror ever since.🖤

So, technically, Creative Capital could go & make a film based on your book, & you'd have no recourse, because you signed your rights away. This is deeply concerning. I decided not apply to Creative Capital until they change their exploitative rights language.

I was so excited to apply for the $50K @creativecap Creative Capital Grant, but the copyright language on the Terms of Use is deeply concerning, it basically gives them the right to do whatever you want with the work you share with them—in any form, now & forever.

@GG_Silverman Oo I need to start finding classes for comic structure. My daughter wants to illustrate and animate the stories we've been working on. They would be voiced and released as shorts on youtube with the fully produced comic and animation posted later under subscription.

@GG_Silverman I'm working on being more mindful. It's just hard when any advancement feels like it's being punished.

I am so tired. Like I feel as if someone has just cranked the tension to hi and left.

My latest story was recently nommed for O.Hrnry Prize, Best American Short Fiction, and Pushcart. It's been a long journey‚ I've been writing short stories for over a decade, & have had serious learning!
