#ncfc are the only club in the history of football that never get a ‘new manager bounce’. Everyone else appoints a new manager and wins a couple of games. Every time we appoint one, we’re still fucking shit.

I never really understood the JHT sacking at the time and safe to say I understand it even less now. Regression week on week to the inevitable outcome of today. Not a clue where we go from here #NCFC

@DanieIEmery Of course, there would have been multiple decision makers involved in giving him that contract. Clearly they saw him as a good enough number 2 at the time & now we have to stick with that until Jan at least. Filling the void left by Nunez & now McLean is the bigger issue IMO.

@GJMann But obviously would be better with him, as he's a terrific player.

Thorup is not beyond criticism. His faith in Long and his lack of changes when the team is clearly knackered in a 3-game week has cost us in these last two games.

@DanieIEmery The football business model that we have (and been in place since 2017) means it was just as much Knapper’s decision to give Long a new contract as it was JHT. With alternatives limited, it’s probably just better getting behind the team and manager until we get Gunn & Nunez back

@GJMann I'm not sure Mair would've done worse than Long in the last three games tbh, but it would be a tough decision to make. His decision to give him a new contract is more of a concern.
