Today, we’re announcing Fulcrum Research, a startup scaling human oversight. We are building debuggers that tell you why your agents fail, and what your rewards are truly testing for—the first step toward the inference-time infrastructure required to safely deploy agents.

I'm excited to announce the release of my research team's pre-print where we: (1) Measure a novel frontier in AI capabilities (2) Introduce a new benchmark (3) Provide a potential explanation for hallucinations drive.google.com/file/d/1Io6R6q…

Broke Finder and other apps on my Mac. Decided to do a factory reset. To save downtime after reset, I decided to automate installations with Homebrew, scripts, and more. That was two days ago. I saved a few minutes by spending hours. Anyone else have this automation bug?

Christians have diverged quite a bit from the actual word of the Bible (even as it exists today) and if they somehow were to remedy the inconsistencies, following it would lead to a religion that looks very different from today.

I can perhaps be sold on #1 and #2 but the rest get really iffy. And as I read more into the Bible I'm thinking more that if the Christian God did exist, "He" is closer to an abusive and unpredictable parent than an all powerful good-doer.

✝️ I'm atheist and studying the Bible to better understand the culture, philosophy, art, history, and politics that have spawned from it. It's interesting how Christianity is in a way monotheistic (God), dualistic (God and Satan), and polytheistic (Saints) 🧵More thoughts

For Christians I have spoken to, being Christian means believing in God but it's actually many parts: 1. A singular God exists 2. God has desires 3. We can know those desires 4. We can appeal to those desires 5. There is no better way of doing good than #4 6. The whole ass Bible

Ex: - Jesus carrying cross vs not - Christians released from rules of OT vs just meat restrictions - Masturbation vs "spilling seed" - Jews vs Romans killing Jesus - Stairway vs Ladder to Heaven - Satan is a minor character - You are resurrected on Earth, not risen to Heaven

This past year I've spent a considerable amount of time listening to audiobooks and realizing many books exist to booster the cred of the author's rather than teach. Per unit time spent, podcasts and blogs are (generally) better.

This isn't to poke at people with money, just a reflection upon some of the irrational financial decisions I make today as a product of these experiences and how I need to adjust because of them.

I used to run or walk to places instead of taking transport in HS. My first pay check of $120 I decided to celebrate by a run to Target only to have a panic attack and leave with a bag of peanuts, some pillows, and a plant.

💰Occasionally I'm reminded of the psychological power of financial security. To not have to worry about bankrupting yourself by buying food, bedding, transportation, and other "necessities" you don't realize are necessities until you have security.

🧥But I think it's important to consider that even if scaling laws stop or if larger pretrained models were to slow/stop due to regulation - we might still be cooked if three GPT-Ns in a trenchcoat have the sauce.

⏳This route to AGI may take much longer than the "more data, more parameters, more juice" scaling arguments for LLMs

🔥Hot AI take🔥 If pretrained model development stopped now, we could still reach AGI by augmenting and hacking current models (scaffolding + REPL loops, model delegation/specialization or factored cognition, short/long term memory, multimodality, etc.)
