To access UE I have to use VPNs because of sanctions and VPNs are illegal here. Even logging into Fab or updating the engine is a struggle.The game industry barely exists here and surviving as a dev is hard. That didn’t stop me. I just hope war or internet shutdowns don’t either.

The current situation in Iran, conflict, and internet disruptions have made it difficult to beactive. This isn’t burnout. External factors are involved. I don’t know what the coming weeks will look like or if I’ll be able to finish Geno, but as long as I can, I’ll keep working.

After a control point is captured, it now goes into a cooldown. Since capturing CPs = hacking the trolley and switching its direction, the cooldown helps keep the tension up. Sorry for the scuffed video editing Any Thoughts? #indiedev #UnrealEngine #gamedev #indiegame #solodev

bonkers vehicle combat game dev day 420 & 421: small things. I added pooling to the bullet trails effects and made them fade out gracefully and added support for water impact VFX for the bullets.

@GenoVideoGame I don't really like such books, I used to read them, and most of the information in them seemed logical to me, so it was boring. Now I don't have free time, I can't find time to really read anything, but that's my problem

10,000 hour rule. I started using Unreal Engine 16 months ago, since I work all the time, I take a minimum of 12 hours as a basis, so that's about 5700 hours. Let it be half the time. When it's 10000, I'll start Blender. How do you feel about this rule? What are your indicators?

@roguephotondev The game would be multiplayer and (Hopefully 😅😅) there would be enough people to queue in for a game. But having bots seems reasonable specially in early stages.

@GenoVideoGame Your AI seems to work great, bots stand still making it a bit easier to hit them which is a good feature rarely added to FPS. Jokes aside, I had a similar experience with AI for RTS, also difficult to debug especially in late stages of the game.

@roguephotondev Thank you. Current AI system Moves, shoots and capture Control Points. I just want to add the CP cooldown system to the AI (Bots should approach the available CPs and not the ones in cooldown) then I think I will be done with AI.

@BTHBcRMY Well, That's somehow the point. Specially to those who play competitive (valorant , CS2, ...) they want to see a headshot, if you click on the head. That's why in CS even the recoil pattern is predeterminate. Even in games like Fortnite and COD lots of weapons are Hit-Scan.

@GenoVideoGame But there's no accounting for travel time, bullet drop, penetration, and the position of the guns barrel relative to the area you're shooting at.
