Innovation has always been at the core of Skywalker Sound’s story, and no one represents that spirit better than our founder, George Lucas, who was recently recognized by @Forbes as #4 on its list of America’s 250 Greatest Innovators.

While Star Wars: A New Hope began shooting 50 years ago today on March 22, 1976, sound designer Ben Burtt had already been hard at work on the film for many months. He was busy recording animals, machinery, vehicles, and all manner of distinct objects in his efforts to build a vast library with which he would design original sounds.
