@therealCJR07 Hi there. A few years ago when modeling was done, it was estimated that from Douglas Glen to Downtown will be 30-35 minutes. Sorry for the delayed reply; we are not using X anymore but will monitor for questions.

Today, the Green Line Board concluded their mandate and transferred responsibility of the Green Line LRT Program to the City of Calgary. In addition, Green Line’s CEO, Darshpreet Bhatti, has shared that he will be leaving the Project. Through his leadership, Darshpreet set an incredible vision and course for the Green Line project team. It has been a challenging path, and we appreciate the experience and oversight that they all brought to Green Line, the legacy left to us, and the lessons they taught us. Thank you for your commitment to Green Line, and your service to Calgarians. #GreenLineYYC

Following City Council's decision to begin winding down Phase 1 of the Green Line LRT, from Lynnwood/Millican to Eau Claire, the Board has approved changes to its structure and membership. In follow up to this, as a collective decision, the Board will dismantle their committee structure and function as a committee of the whole, with five Board members: Don Fairbairn, Marcia Nelson, Ian Bourne, Patricia McLeod and David Duckworth. The Board thanks departing Board members Janet Annesley, Larry Beasley, Bharat Mahajan and Fred Cummings for their dedication and contributions to the project. In the same way that the Board has made decisions since 2021, the departing Board members put the needs of the project first. Their diverse expertise is best aligned with a forward-looking project, which is no longer the mandate of the Green Line Board. Their significant impact made the project better, and they remain strong champions of the vision of the Green Line LRT Project and city-building transit infrastructure: bit.ly/4e4pia5.

Today, Calgary City Council formally approved the wind down of the Phase 1 project as a result of the withdrawal of financial support by the Alberta government on September 3. The Phase 1 project will not proceed because at this stage, with 60% design completed and construction underway, the almost 1,000 staff, consultants and contractors, the current procurement, the more than 70 negotiated contracts and current construction are directly tied to the previously approved alignment. The Green Line Board will oversee the wind down of the Phase 1 project and ensure that all contractual obligations are fulfilled or transferred to the City by December 31, 2024. On behalf of the Green Line Board and entire project team, thank you for your years of support, advocacy, and patience through construction. It has been our privilege to work on your behalf. calgary.ca/green-line/gre…

Dear Calgarians, Yesterday, in response to the province withdrawing their funding of Phase 1 of the Green Line, from Eau Claire to Lynnwood/Millican, City Council made difficult decisions on the future of the Green Line LRT. This was not the outcome that any of us would have hoped for and understand that the news is as hard for our supporters as it is our team. As a next step, Green Line and City colleagues will return to Council on September 17, 2024 with recommendations on how to wind down the current Phase 1 project. We know that you likely have a lot of questions and, as we have throughout the history of Green Line, we will keep you updated as we know more. With our sincere thanks, The Green Line LRT Project team

Green Line is making progress in Ogden! In addition to the road upgrades along 78 Avenue S.E. and the underpass being built to facilitate better and safer access into the industrial park, we’re also constructing a pedestrian tunnel near 72 Avenue, which will provide walking access from the future Ogden Station into the industrial park for commuters. Although unseasonably warm for Calgary, this weather is perfect for pouring concrete and our crews aren’t slowing down. Learn more about the 78 Avenue Project and other active work on the Green Line by visiting our website. calgary.ca/green-line/con… #GreenLineYYC #GreenLineCalgary #YYCconstruction #Calgaryconstruction
