Tonight's the night. I help my human in teaching a group class for dogs and their humans. Some attendees are service dogs doing maintenance training, some are service dogs still in training, and some are pet dogs working on some issues or developing skills to become great companions. Tonight Kenji gets to come along. He better not embarrass me!

@2DogsCandies (((Hugs))) my heart goes out to you! Lost my Gritty (Golden) in his sleep 9/30/22 then had to make the decision with my Charlie (Shorkie Tsu) 2/6/23. For what its worth, #dogsofX and everyone's posts help me deal with my double whammy grief.

#AngelversaryOfMuffin Another story about my heart, my soul, my sweetest baby Muffin. It might feel long and boring to some, but it’s about the indescribable, forever love I have for Fin. I called him Fin or FinFin all the time—I always thought it was so cute. A couple of weeks before Muffin passed, I took both Cookie and Muffin to the park. I don’t really know why I did it, but I’m so incredibly glad I did. I had no idea Muffin would leave us so soon. Whenever I think back to that day, my heart fills with quiet joy knowing my baby Muffin got to smell the grass, the familiar field, and the scents of bunnies and squirrels one last time. Muffin had been really sick for months by then, so I hadn’t taken them out in a very long time. Something magical nudged me that afternoon to bring him there and let his sweet little paw prints press into the path of one of his favorite parks for the final time. Still, it breaks my heart to remember how hard he tried to walk—his tiny body crippled by severe arthritis, every step painful. What happened to my super-agile, super-fast, super-fun baby Muffin? It hurts so much to think of him suffering and fighting with everything he had. In the end, even during the most violent seizure of his life, Muffin was still so brave. I was right there, holding one of his paws, comforting him as he took his last breath—wrapped in the tightest embrace between the arms and chest of his HooDad.
