@dawlyndiaz @viperbirdie @Pokemon You don't even need to pay for this, you can load the ROM for your original copy with no mods to the Switch. Just load a custom launcher on the SD card along with the game and it plays seamlessly. This is just a cash grab for people who are too lazy to do like 10 minutes of work.

@viperbirdie @Pokemon They could’ve easily added it to the Switch Online catalog, but since Pokémon fans pay anything for mediocre games (especially recent ones), the company keeps doing this. I’m a Switch user, but I won’t pay full price for a Pokémon game that’s not worth it.

@JimDavisMTG Voting with your wallet is pointless anymore. The game isn't funded by players at this point, it's funded by scalpers at the base level and players just have to get screwed by middlemen now. Been that way for a long time.

It feels like people are often complaining about too many releases, the game being too expensive, crossovers ruining the game, Magic losing its identity, etc
And then it's everyone complaining that they might miss out on a chance to buy the latest Secret Lair

I know Maro is just a designer, but I’d like for what he says to be a little more reliable long term.
Magic may not have sold better to a larger audience, but it is superior as its own thing.

@AshenbubsHD Been playing Albion Online lately and I was surprised that it felt just as rich as XI in terms of world building for a game that doesn't have any sort of central storyline or even any quests. All the zones are really well thought out and it gives me such good vibes.

World building. FFXI is a living, breathing world. Giant gates that take a group to coordinate to open. Paths that take planning and adventurers to gather and venture forth.
I dislike comparison but prefer the praise XI on simply being the most superior open world game made.

FFXI dungeons vs FFXIV dungeons I think that's one of the biggest downgrades of XIV. If we get a new MMO, I'd like them to be more ambitious with the exploration. Even if it's not as organic as XI, at least give us dungeons with better structures and more variety please!

while i know it makes templating easier, foundations feels like it could have been the perfect time to start using legendary character’s known pronouns. enjoy seeing that in other games, makes characters feel more real.
(e.g. whenever alesha attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on her)

@TcgToni @Rebell_Lily They could have done away with the color pie and made a new resource system and kept most other aspects of the game the same. It wouldn't even have to be "too different" but would still let them play around with new designs while reusing assets they already had. A shame really.

@Zaxzom1 @Rebell_Lily It's cause Magic story is pretty incoherent. I used to love WoW lore until it also started turning into a huge schizopost and then stopped caring too. 😕 I doubt I'm the only person who feels this way.

@Rebell_Lily Yes... unfortunatly 90% of the already enfranchised players doesn't care about lore, story and stuff about the game. They might like the art style, sure, and general settings, but they actually don't care.
Magic lore scares people so much many don't even try to know more.

@TcgToni @Rebell_Lily A spinoff game with similar rules would have been so cool. Would have let them explore new design space as well. If they branded it as a Magic product but made it clear it was a new game it probably would have been successful too.

@Rebell_Lily It's almost like UB should have been it's own format or game that's adjacent to mtg. I would have totally been on board with a new game based on mtg or a format for UB. That sounds like a bunch of fun.

@Rebell_Lily Kamigawa is when I started too, and for the same exact reason. I came back for Neon Dynasty as well. Game sucked though so I quit again shorty afterwards.
