Willow Class had a deliciously fun time on their visit to Nesbit House this week, where they learned how to bake cookies from scratch. The children returned to school with smiles on their faces and arms full of giant, freshly baked cookies. #Halstead #Hamberleycarehomes

Our Key Stage 2 pupils did an amazing job representing Halstead at the Sevenoaks District Sports event, competing against other local small schools. They showed great sportsmanship and courage. Well done, team Halstead. #Halstead

Maple Class had a sensational time exploring slime this week. As part of their sensory learning, they squished, stretched and played while expanding their vocabulary and even using the slime for mark making. #Halstead

Buds Class did an amazing job caring for their caterpillar. This week, the butterflies finally emerged! Buds & Saplings joined together to release them into our beautiful school grounds. A magical moment! #Halstead

What an unforgettable day! Our incredible year 6 children worked together to build their very own go-kart from scratch and then raced it against 15 other schools! Our young engineers crossed the finish line in first place, in the class 4 finals. #Halstead #youngecoengineers

Year 6 children had a valuable experience on Monday at the Safety in Action event. They learned about important topics such as water safety, railway safety, CPR, and even gained insight into the work of the army. #Halstead

Oak Class have been diving into performance poetry and did a brilliant job bringing the poem Sarah Byng by Hilaire Belloc to life. Their confidence and interpretation were impressive. #Halstead

Maple Class have been focusing on weight. The children have been working together to compare the weights of different objects, developing their measuring skills and teamwork at the same time. #Halstead

In Buds Class, there was great excitement at the arrival of their caterpillars. The children are looking forward to caring for them and watching how much they change in the coming days—there’s a real buzz of curiosity in the classroom. #Halstead

Saplings Class have been learning about time and have made their very own clock faces. #Halstead

Maple Class have been exploring letters and sounds. The highlight was a messy (and very fun!) letter hunt in shaving foam. #Halstead

Oak Class had a fantastic opportunity to attend a Gamelan workshop at Sevenoaks School. The children had a brilliant time learning to play these beautiful instruments and exploring a completely different musical culture. #Halstead @SevenoaksSchool

In Saplings, the focus has been on fractions. The children have been busy using cubes to help them understand and find three-quarters of different amounts. #Halstead

Our school was a hive of activity on Times Table Rock Stars Day. What great rock star costumes! #Halstead

Oak Class has been shown their creativity and theatrical talents. They have worked together to write poems and then bring them to life through performance. #Halstead

Saplings have embarked upon an exciting venture—designing and constructing boats. I wonder how the boats will get on next week when they float them down a river? #Halstead
