The MLB rules state it plainly but don't spell out the "why." Best reasoning from context: Position players only pitch in big blowouts (now restricted to 8+ run leads/deficits), where the whole point is to finish fast without dragging things out. Challenges would add delays and reviews in low-stakes mop-up innings, so they're disabled to keep the game moving. The ABS setup is tuned for real pitchers anyway.

@FLCryptoGuy @CodifyBaseball Yes, it's true. Under MLB's 2026 ABS challenge system, the pitcher, catcher, or batter can challenge ball/strike calls by tapping their helmet—but this isn't allowed when a position player is pitching. The video shows exactly that scenario in action.

Hi, Thanks for sharing the details. I had an experience while heading down to Chattanooga Charge described here, x.com/Harbles/status… So, how is your relationship with your local Tesla Service team? Have you been in touch with them about this incident? In my case as of the time of my incident unknown firmware fixed me right up. I'm curious about your warrantee status considering the places you've been, distance you've traveled and amount of 3rd party gear your CT has installed. I'm guessing there's some tension between Tesla and the Right To Repair folks. On one hand Tesla has made all the parts and service manuals available. On the other they seem reluctant to let folks tinker with in-warrantee vehicles. The Tesla user community has been amazing at documenting many of the hidden secrets but maybe there should be fewer secrets? Has service mode been fully documented? How many more firmware updates are there? grok.com/share/bGVnYWN5… But still, an amazing vehicle.

That's the problem with plans, they change. I had just departed Winnipeg and got set for a quick charge in Morris, MB. Plugged in and I noticed I was only getting 17 kW, considerably less than advertised. So thought I'd try a different stall . First I heard the display beeping then I saw this warning. And this was my view a few hours later. Might be the Inverter disease (see reply). Late Friday estimate for repair so unlikely to make it. Next Time.

Those of you that followed our sudden loss of battery energy from even before I had time to make the public video, have mostly been appreciative of how we were able to find solutions to each problem we encountered. However, just like in the software development world, finding solutions to problems isn't always about how you know everything on your own. Sometime you have to search collaborate with others. Dig deep, if you will. In this case, one of the things I did was reach out to friends, after finding some of the information that we used. I validated the process to get access to charging jump starting the Cybertruck using Tesla's own manual. But I also reached out to @itskyleconner to confirm some of my suspicions and also to try and get answers to some of the unknowns. When we hit a roadblock, Kyle pulled @alex_bessinger to the conversation, and together we did additional troubleshooting and came up with the final piece of the puzzle to correct the wheels issue without access to the "service toolbox" subscription. The reason I am bringing all of this up now, is because as someone that has been mechanically inclined all my life, I can't understand not having access to everything necessary to fix my own vehicle. To reset the yoke position with the position of the wheels, currently only with paid access to the menu, or @Tesla service centers and authorized mechanics can get to it. If a critical feature from the service screen is required to fix my own car, I shouldn't need to pay to access it. That's all I'm saying.

Beware! Grok has a tendency to misidentify the speaker in this clip. " You're right—thanks for the correction and the additional context! Upon closer review and cross-referencing recent viral clips circulating around this topic, the speaker in the video (from the @TeslaAIBot post) is indeed Charles Hoskinson (founder of Cardano and co-founder of Ethereum), pulled from his appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show (episode #215, which aired around July 2025). " I'm sure this sort of stuff will get fixed but be advised that Grok gets stuff wrong.

Interesting post Larry. It may not have been Germaine to the story you wanted to tell but, what of Wall street hedge fund's roll in the deindustrialization of America? I've heard it told that the prioritization of short term share holder value maximization without regard to the longer term implications of off shoring for the sake of cheap labor for the benefit of a few extra points of profit with out regard to the hollowing out of the industrial Heartland was the major culprit. Oversimplification?

It's Complicated. " How far behind schedule and over budget is Boeing on the new Presidential jets? Searching the web 33 results The Boeing VC-25B program, which modifies two Boeing 747-8 aircraft to serve as the next-generation presidential transports (replacing the current VC-25A Air Force One planes), is significantly behind schedule and over budget.Original contract details (2018):Fixed-price contract awarded to Boeing for $3.9 billion. Planned delivery of the first aircraft in 2024 (with the second following shortly after). Current status (as of late 2025/early 2026):The first VC-25B is now projected for delivery in mid-2028 (per recent Air Force statements and reports from sources like Breaking Defense, Air & Space Forces Magazine, and others). This represents a delay of approximately 4 years from the original 2024 target. Earlier in 2025, projections had slipped further (e.g., to 2029 or later in some GAO reports and forecasts), but efforts—including leadership changes at Boeing, relaxed requirements, and acceleration initiatives—have pulled the timeline forward slightly to mid-2028. The second aircraft would follow, likely in 2028 or 2029, though exact dates are less specified. Cost overruns:The program's total estimated cost has grown to around $5.6 billion (or up to $6 billion in some projections, including broader program elements like testing, infrastructure, and upgrades). This is an increase of roughly $1.7 billion (or more) over the original $3.9 billion contract value. Because it's a fixed-price contract, Boeing has absorbed most of the overruns itself, reporting losses exceeding $2 billion (and up to $2.5 billion in some accounts) due to factors like supply chain issues, workforce shortages (especially cleared personnel), design flaws, rework, security clearance bottlenecks, and inflation. These delays stem from chronic challenges, including skilled labor shortages, parts/supply chain problems, evolving requirements, and technical issues like stress corrosion cracks requiring repairs. The program has drawn criticism, including from President Trump, who has expressed frustration and explored alternatives (e.g., interim solutions like a Qatari-donated 747).Note that "delivery" here refers to handover from Boeing to the Air Force; full operational capability (after testing, certification, and integration) could extend further, potentially into the late 2020s or beyond. The existing VC-25A planes will continue in service well past their planned retirement due to these slips. "

@cwebbonline This is too bad, especially since the original livery was designed by Raymond Lowey, who's considered the father of American design. Here's the original sketch (from the MoMA website). It's unmistakable.

I like the Kennedy colors ✈️ But how many planes does this man need? There are already two new Air Force One jets in the pipeline, plus the Qatari “gift” jet taxpayers are spending millions to retrofit, all getting the new color scheme. The question isn’t the paint job. It’s the priorities.

That would be Elon. He's a big Iain M. Banks fan. " The phrase "Just Read The Instructions" first appears as a Culture ship name (specifically a General Contact Unit, or GCU) in Iain M. Banks' novel The Player of Games (1988), the second book published in the Culture series. It is mentioned in dialogue near the beginning of the book, when the protagonist Jernau Gurgeh asks about some approaching ships: "What are they called?" "The Of Course I Still Love You and Just Read The Instructions." "They're not warships?" "With names like that? They're GCUs; what else?" This is its debut in the series. (Note: The first Culture novel, Consider Phlebas (1987), introduces the Culture universe and includes some ship names—mostly in an appendix or "Dramatis Personae" section—but does not mention Just Read The Instructions or its companion Of Course I Still Love You. Those names originate in The Player of Games.)The Culture Wiki and multiple reliable sources (including Wikipedia entries on the novels and SpaceX's drone ships, which were named in homage to these) confirm this as the first and primary appearance. The ships are referenced as friends of the character Chamlis Amalk-ney and have loose ties to Contact section operations. "

I’ve thought about this topic a lot. With the caveat that this is my opinion only - here’s my take on truly increasing diversity in the cockpit (the right way). Women: simple fact is, more men seem to choose piloting as a profession than women. That’s just the stats. Why? Dunno. Gender role “norms”? Probably. The answer here, is to increase the visibility of women in the cockpit. Normalize it. More girls will grow up knowing it’s an option, more women will chose piloting as a profession. Minorities: same as above, but also it’s a simple statistical fact that minorities, specifically people of color, come from lower income households. That’s not an opinion, it’s a statistical fact. The cost of flight training is HIGHLY prohibitive. To get more POC in the cockpit, more financial resources/scholarships need to go to these demographics. Ultimately it’s just going to take time. It will eventually balance out more, it’s statistically getting closer every year. There SHOULD be efforts made to increase diversity in the cockpit - but it needs to be actioned effectively. Not words, not optics. Real money spent to make it happen over time.
Calvin Robertson@Logixmaster

Based on the numbers from my thought experiment. It looks like they need to work on boosting applications by POC/Women. If everyone applied proportional to the demographics and they hired solely off skills and aptitude the hired group would only be about 28% white men. The big issue is that reality is somewhere between this and the possibility that the number of applicants are so low that virtually every one of the selected class are accepted regardless of skill. which is what the public fears. A little more transparency would probably solve this. In the same vein, if the reality is closer to the numbers in my experiment couldn’t the airline just certify that they are hiring on merit and not worry about it because it’s true?

Super Power feature... you can easily follow other users lists by just pressing the follow button on that list without going to the effort of curating one yourself. For example if you wanted a quick PR/Comms list Robert has one at x.com/i/lists/104975… just press the follow and it should add it to your lists. If you have Favorite people you follow see if they have any lists (Go to their profile page, press the circle with the three dots in it, Click "view lists" (4th one down) . Don't be disappointed if they don't have any though, It's a really underappreciated but powerful tool. Next chapter, putting lists (or search words or hashtags) into Xpro. pro.x.com 😀
