Border was closed because a Pakistani border guard was SHOT BY A SNIPER FROM AFGHAN SIDE. But that’s a “MINOR INCIDENT” for our senior journalist here who worries about the sufferings of Afghans but has no sympathy for his fellow Pakistani, who may or may not survive the attack.

#Torkham border crossing is closed again. Dozens of Afghans crossed the gate on Thursday after it was opened for deportation/repatriation. Official sources say the gate was closed after a #Pakistani border guard was injured in a sniper fire from the #Afghan side. #Afghan Taliban officials confirmed the closure but did not offer comments about the reasons. Border closure means refugees will suffer more. Repeated closures of border points on minor incidents show the level of hostilities between the two countries. This is the first time all crossings have been closed for nearly 6 months for trade and passengers, unfortunately
