Runners' Itch: Causes, Prevention, and Tips
Runners' itch is a common, harmless irritation caused by increased blood flow to the legs during exercise. It triggers nerve endings near the skin, resulting in itchiness.
Causes:
•Poor Circulation: Inactivity can constrict blood vessels; sudden exercise increases blood flow, causing itch.
•Dry Skin: Cold or dry weather dehydrates the skin.
•Allergies: Sweat or detergents may irritate sensitive skin.
•Histamine Release: Exercise-induced histamine can lead to itching.
Prevention:
1️⃣ Stay Active: Regular exercise improves circulation.
2️⃣ Hydrate & Moisturize: Prevent dry skin with water and quality moisturizers.
3️⃣ Wear Proper Gear: Use breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics.
4️⃣ Warm Up Gradually: Prepare the body with stretches or light walking.
5️⃣ Use Hypoallergenic Detergents: Avoid skin irritants.
When to Seek Help:
Persistent or severe itching alongside swelling or pain may signal a medical issue. Consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist.
Keep Running Comfortably!

🔹 Medications (e.g., chemotherapy, retinoids)

🚨 Medscape Cuts Ties with Tobacco-Funded Courses 🚨
Medscape has permanently removed smoking cessation courses funded by tobacco giant Philip Morris International (PMI) after backlash from health
professionals and a BMJ investigation.
🔎 The investigation revealed PMI's multi-million dollar "PMI Curriculum," with plans for global CME programs, sparking outrage among medics.
💬 Critics, including UCSF's Tim McAfee, called this partnership “a perversion of ethics,” demanding a global ban on industry-funded medical education.
🛑 Medscape has pledged to reject all future funding linked to the tobacco industry, acknowledging their "misjudgment."
📢 Health leaders urge accreditation bodies to ban CME funding by tobacco companies, warning against industry influence on patient care.
🗣️ “The tobacco industry cannot be allowed to influence medical education or health practitioners,” states Professor Ruth Malone.
What are your thoughts on this? Should stricter policies be enforced?

Nothing scares a parent more than seeing their child looking unwell while feeling helpless. Croup is one of such scary diseases that is scary to witness as a parent when a child’s cough suddenly begins to sound like a bark
Croup is one of those diseases of the night that brings with it a barking cough that alarms everyone. It’s a viral infection, typically hitting kids under the age of 5. And when I say "barking," I mean it literally.
Along with this unsettling sound comes a hoarse voice and a noisy breathing pattern, especially when inhaling, called stridor.
When croup strikes, a child may wake up in the middle of the night struggling to breathe, panicking both the child and the parents. The sound is unmistakable, and it can be frightening. Emergency treatment is very necessary as it can be dangerous and life-threatening.
