@BrewYourOwn American Pale Ale. Fairly expensive to buy decent one over in the UK so I brew my own.

IPAs have come to dominate the craft beer segment. How about in your house...what beer style do you find yourself brewing and/or drinking the most? It could either be a category or specific style or sub-style.

@totalcurtis @CloudwaterPaul @FermentHQ I like to support independents but if consistently good product is being offered at a more reasonable price by mainstream breweries I will buy that too. I can’t afford to buy the independent stuff all the time.

@cloudwaterbrew Huge problem is a micro style has now become representative of the whole style. Swathes of breweries have cropped up just to suit new to ipa drinkers craving juice. Existing breweries have also pampered to this need. Brewers are backed into a corner at risk of reviews like above

@cloudwaterbrew Descriptions are key. I rarelt enjoy an NEIPA or NEPA but if it’s balanced they can be good. I just wish it was always clear from the can whether the beer is going to be heavily hazy and cloudy etc.

Fascinating. Many folk that grew up on West Coast IPAs struggled (or continue to struggle) to get NEIPAs, whilst folk that are into NEIPAs struggle with anything West Coast leaning. We defo need more clarity about where each IPA sits, but where’s the both coasts are dope crew?

@HullHomebrew @DrAnnieGray @BBCTwo @GosnellsMead @Lucy_Worsley I would describe it as malty, sweet, smokey, herbal and also slightly sour. It was quite a complex yet very drinkable beer. Absolutely fascinating stuff.
