Curious what PsyA folks think about IFS's model of personality compared w/ certain theories in PsyA; e.g., Sullivan's "self-system" or Bromberg's multiple self-states. Seems to be a lot of similarities but I don't know enough about IFS to understand exactly how they're different?

@donwinslow Sounds like a partial solution would be fair distribution of the wealth so that there are not so many โ€œ poor peopleโ€ and social supports, mental healthcare, etc. so that these individuals have better self-esteem and empathy for themselves and others.

@psycheureka Consider psychotherapies, including intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy, ISTDP, which has been shown to improve cognitive function in major depression without the chemical side effects and withdrawal effects. Similar treatment cost as well.
