The shift is simple. APCs aren’t generated dialogue. They’re characters with identity, memory, context, goals, state, and capabilities. That’s what makes them feel inhabited — like real digital humans. 🔥 What do you think is the biggest problem with most NPCs in games today? Put it all together and APCs can: Remember you. Form opinions. Build trust. Hold grudges. Adapt. Coordinate. And take meaningful action over time. 12/13

@GaliViarT Love the art. The parent coming from the bottom of the screen is really good too.

@rodarain The players, all of them. I build the world and allow you to be and do what you want. Its not my story, it's not my beliefs, it's yours, all of you.

@InfiniteColony I utterly hate these engagement questions in post, but grok said phoenix would like it so we are doing what grok says.

@rodarain Most of the accessibility things come from the systems that power the apcs. Because of what they structurally are we can allow those systems to directly interact with the player to help anyone play the game without much effort on our part.

@InfiniteColony This does not cause a design change at all for any player, rather the way the game is designed it just naturally allows for different inputs and outputs.

@rodarain Quality of life is our third pillar behind the apcs and map. The depth of the quality of life system within this game will be as shocking as the human level npcs.

This is based upon the A.P.C. shell. To make the acp's I have to do certain things to teach them about the world and how to exist within it. So I am just going to stick one in the player's character. This will allow automation of actions, from "E" being kick down the door when at x location vs knock at x location, to full automation where you can watch the game like your own personal tv show.

@rodarain In Infinite Colony the only grind the player has to actually do will be completely up to them. Time skip and automation solve this completely.

@InfiniteColony I never understood why grind was put into any game to pad the length, I bought it, you have my money, why do you care how long I play it?

When you remove the guardrails you flip how you design a game. Everything can be made modular and just dropped into the world. Cooking can start as a simple system then expanded to be as complex as a cooking sim without worrying about what that means to the overall game. With the apc shell we can make any system as deep as we want and the player can adjust the automation level to remove anything they don't wish to do.

@InfiniteColony This also seems like a mistake on the industry's part. A truly open and free game is actually easier to build than a guardrail based game. I wont have to worry about you little knuckleheads doing things to break what I wanted you to do, cause I don't care what you do.
