@bperry_writes For me, reading is a great hobby then life gets to be living too much and reading becomes an escape and I know I’m in trouble when life is too much and I just can’t handle additional, albeit fictional, conflict. My reading breaks are usually a mental health warning sign.

I have been through that, and getting back into it has been hard but I'm working on it.

Vulnerable post ahead. I no longer feel like I can truly call myself a writer 😔 Friend at work said he felt silly editing my reports because ‘you’re a published writer!’ and my instinctive response was to diminish it because it feels so trivial and I’ve not written in so long

A friend at work told me he’d read my book and ‘quite enjoyed it’ and now I’m having flashbacks to when a guy I dated said I was ‘quite pretty’. Like. Does the quite mean ‘very’ or ‘sort of’ 😅🙈

@KayAyDrew Lovely but you keep making me think the book is out then I check and it's so long to wait! I complain as if I don't pre-order books, await impatiently, add them to the tbr, then read 6 months later. 😅

Me looking at my 7 hours marking on Sunday, 10 hour day Monday, 14 hour day Tuesday (marking + theatresports after school), 14 hour day Wednesday (school, tutorials, netball finals) while the cost of living crisis and govt desire to cut pay looms like the grim reaper behind me:

@laurcunn I was a hater. Not that I would try to convince anyone not to like it but some of his phrasing threw me and the riddles seemed oddly easy for guarding the greatest secret in the world. It was a page turner for sure but the only one I read from him.

I had no idea The DaVinci Code got such hate. I loved that book. I loved that book so much I read all his other books. And then I loved those books so much, I read every other book I could find similar to The DaVinci Code by other authors. I like when reading is fun.

Sometimes i get jealous of the people who's parents inspired them, raised them to who they are now. I raised myself, i raised an adventurous spirit and a resilient heart. At least I got that.
