Yesterday was a day of panel discussions at the Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy (@weasa_natolin) The morning sessions were devoted to the discussion on the future of the EU enlargement from the perspective of the #WesternBalkans and the #EasternPartnership. Our distinguished panellist Nenad Markovic, Senior Research Fellow @InstitutePrespa, Miruna Butnaru-Troncotă, National University of Political Science and Public Administration, and Marta Szpala @mszpala, Senior Fellow in the Centre for Eastern Studies @OSW_eng, introduced their views about the state of play in the Eastern Partnership. Later, the next panellists, Prof. Kataryna Wolczuk, College of Europe in Natolin, Dr Stefano Braghiroli @Stbragh, Associate Professor at European Studies at the University of Tartu @skytteUT, and Elżbieta Kaca, Analyst at Polish Institute of International Affairs @PISM_Poland, presented their valuable insights about the different stages of the transformation of the Eastern Partnership and discussed the opportunities and hindrances of individual countries considering the current geopolitical situation. The afternoon session was again entirely led by participants: representatives of #Belarus, #Albania, #Kosovo and #Moldova presented their SWOT analyses related to the status of Euro-Atlantic integration of their countries. This time as well the participants were at their highest peak. The day concluded with an inspiring fireside chat with Ewa Ośniecka-Tamecka @EOsniecka, the Vice-Rector of the College of Europe, who shared her hand on experience in preparing Poland for EU integration. One of the best takeaways among the others was her advice to the countries in transition to be well prepared as membership means good preparation. “A significant element of preparation is education: that’s why I am here”, - concluded the Vice-Rector.
