Breaking: Pakistani Astronauts to Enter Chinese Space Station China has announced the conclusion of the selection process for its first cohort of foreign astronauts. Two Pakistani candidates have been selected and will travel to China to undergo training as reserve astronauts. Upon completing their training and passing the requisite assessments, one of them will participate in a spaceflight mission as a payload specialist, thereby becoming the first foreign national to enter the Chinese Space Station. In February 2025, China and Pakistan signed the *Agreement on the Selection, Training, and Participation of Pakistani Astronauts in Chinese Space Station Flight Missions* in Islamabad, officially launching the selection process for Pakistani astronauts. Following a rigorous three-stage screening and evaluation process—comprising preliminary, secondary, and final selections—two Pakistani reserve astronauts were ultimately chosen. The selection and training of astronauts for Pakistan marks a milestone in the history of China's space program. It stands as a landmark achievement in international cooperation regarding the Chinese Space Station and serves as another successful example of the concrete implementation of the China-Pakistan "All-Weather" Strategic Cooperative Partnership within the space sector. Furthermore, it fully demonstrates the Chinese government's open attitude and willingness to share the fruits of its space development with the international community.
