Ravens VP and GM Eric DeCosta says the “plan” was to add both DEs Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby. The medicals, future concerns changed what they ultimately felt comfortable surrendering in the way of the capital they initially offered. As they weighed the feedback from a number of doctors including noted knee specialist Dr. Daniel Cooper they ultimately decided they had to move on. He acknowledged “the conspiracy” narrative out there but added “we were not able to complete the process based on their assessment.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones didn’t explicitly say “we’re comfortable with Pickens playing on the tag” but this clip certainly alludes to that. “We can do everything we need to do” with Pickens’ 2026 salary at ~$28M. “Once you have the tag, you have the tag and we know George is going to be here.”
