I strongly dislike Nigerian "hustle" culture. The end game is always money. Not meaning, legacy or anything that outlives you.

This is exactly the same thing I’ve been thinking about for a while. It appears like we’ve confused good policy design with good policy outcomes. Subsidy removal, FX liberalisation, tax reforms and those “hard economic policies” sound good and they appear correct on paper. But these policies assume a functioning safety net, productive capacity that can absorb the shock, and a state that reinvests the savings into the people. Strip those away and you’re not implementing any reform, you’re just transferring pain downward which is what this administration has been doing. Three years in and the people have not benefited from these policies. Commodity prices up 3–4x, school fees unaffordable but ofc, there is NELFUND lol, real wages destroyed. The “savings” from subsidy removal haven’t visibly returned to citizens in any form. Good policies without structural follow-through aren’t good policies. They’re just austerity disguised as improvements and we all would be used as collateral damages for the perceived improvement.

For context, I don't really like the ADC. Or little finger. Or Dubai man. Or the red cap kwasi. Or aregbs. Or Amaechs. Or dmarks. But I like Peter Obi. And I'd tolerate strange bedfellows for him. That is the height of my hypocrisy

Your votes actually count. Parts of it gets rigged, but it counts. If it doesn't, politicians won't invest hundreds of millions in vote buying. Rigging is mathematically limited, and if the gap is huge enough, you can't close it. Get your PVC.

Side quest for next month (hope I remember) Run into a restaurant and loudly ask, “Where am I? What time is it? What YEAR is this?!” When told the year, I’d fall on my knees and say “You have to vote him out! Terrible things happened in the future I came from.”

Crazy work. For those who say Peter Obi is tainted should go and research this guy. He left Viktor Orbán's party to contest against him because he hated the corruption. He built his structure within 2 years, and it included old people in the previous administration. The people are tired of Viktor, it wasn't a difficult choice in the end.
