Ironically, the biggest single culprit in the pension fund crisis of 2022 was possibly Andrew Bailey. Under his watch, the PRA actively encouraged pension funds and life insurance companies to "hedge" their inflation linked liabilities, as did the Pensions Regulator. Of course, it also suited Government, because the UK's largest investors were all being forced to buy (with leverage) humongous quantities of Government Bonds at hugely inflated prices (in some cases 3.5x higher than the price they were due to be repaid at in 50 years!). Pension Trustees - often not the most financially literate souls - were increasingly pressured by regulators, consultants and peers to use LDI to protect their funds against future inflation. Unfortunately, this half-trillion pound inflation "hedging" program was nothing of the sort; it was a total scam, using massively risky leverage to buy incredibly overpriced gilts and miss-sold inflation swaps that trustees had no chance of understanding. Perhaps worse, by 2021, trustees were entering into long term hedging contracts that were mathematically guaranteed to lose them nearly 70% of their real value over 50 years - yep, a guaranteed loss. Then, when interest rates finally started going up, after being artificially suppressed for a decade, it became apparent that LDI was not a protection against inflation, but a massive leveraged bet against interest rates ever rising. In summary, the hapless Truss had nothing to do with the creation of this crisis; she just happened to be around when it blew up. While the @bankofengland , having helped create and preside over the entire strategy, allegedly "rode to the rescue" in the nick of time. Jokes.

Here's the timeline leading up to the COVID-19 outbreak that I've recorded from various sources: - 1999, The Department of Health and human Services (HHS) funds research amplifying the infectious character Coronaviruses, known as Gain of Function - 2000, Researcher Ralph Baric submits a patent reverse engineering SARS-CoV. - 2002-2006, scientists in the U.S. and China file patents for combining DNA of coronaviruses with HIV and other diseases. - 2011, scientists raise alarms about gain of function research after labs in Wisconsin and the Netherlands mutate a lethal strain of the H5N1 Avian Flu. - In 2012, six miners in China hospitalized with an outbreak of severe unexplained pneumonia. - 2013, MERS outbreak in the Middle East. This same year, Baric and Chinese scientists isolate 3 coronaviruses from bats examining spike protein behaviors. - 2014, CDC accidentally exposes workers to Anthrax; ships deadly flu virus of smallpox. Obama Administration halts gain of function research. - 2015, Baric and Chinese researcher Dr. Zhengli announce they have "reengineered HKU4 spike aiming to build its capacity to infect human cells." - In 2016, a Chinese researcher published claims that some of the miners had SARS antibodies and revealed that the event occurred in the village of Danaoshan. - China blocks roads and information about the copper mind and censors any reports related to the illnesses. - Numerous research groups conduct genome studies to examine the newfound SARS incident. These projects and their findings are still kept in secrecy. - 2017, the gain of function research ban is lifted. - In 2017, a paper by Dr. Zhengli with the intent to produce research is made public entitled: “Study on the evolutionary mechanism of bat SARS-like coronavirus adapted to host receptor molecules and the risk of cross-species infection” - 2018, research conducted on SARS-related coronaviruses identifies the ACE2 receptor as a leading candidate for triggering an illness. - In 2018, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) initiated a project to develop vaccines based on previously published bat coronavirus research. - 2018, the research by Dr. Zhengli is published (later taken down by Chinese officials) - 2019, The Wuhan Institute of Virology starts upgrades for critical bio-safety examinations. - Odd patents are issued to the Wuhan lab for high-grade biosafety laboratory disinfectant and treatment of woulds from lab accidents. - Wuhan published information indicating that they are conducing experiments with rabbits, rats, mutant mice, ferrets, and bats for experimental purposes. - Summer 2019, researchers from Wuhan request that their genome additions to the NIH genome databank be deleted. NIH complies. - 2019, SARS-CoV-2 identified by Chinese officials at a wet market in Wuhan. - Shortly thereafter, the lead epidemiologist for the team investigating the outbreak issues a directive not to “provide other institutions and individuals with information related to Covid-19 epidemic on their own including data, biological specimens, pathogens, culture etc." - December 2019, SARC-CoV-2 outbreak
