I hold British nationality and carry a British passport, and I am proud of that. But I also recognize that I am an immigrant, and not a Brit. My children were born in the UK, and they are British. At the same time, they are also the children of an immigrant. Both of these truths can exist together. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging where we come from.
