Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Government of India, chaired a review meeting on the Brackishwater Aquaculture Cluster with farmers, seafood Exporters, Aqua-clinic, feed mill and hatchery operators at Bhimavaram, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. The Bhimavaram Brackishwater Mega Cluster is among the 34 key fisheries production and processing clusters notified under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), focusing on high-value species such as Whiteleg shrimp (P. vannamei) and Black tiger shrimp (P. monodon), which significantly contribute to India’s seafood exports basket. One of India’s largest and most intensive brackishwater aquaculture ecosystems, the cluster spans 53,861 hectares, encompassing over 42,051 ponds and supporting around 37,806 aqua farmers. मत्स्य पालन विभाग, भारत सरकार ने रायसेन, मध्य प्रदेश में आयोजित तीन दिवसीय "उन्नत कृषि महोत्सव" (प्रदर्शनी एवं प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम) में भाग लिया जिसमें #फिश-टेक पवेलियन के में एक्वापोनिक्स (Aquaponics), आर.ए.एस.
