I'm not a soccer fan, it's the lowest team sport in my estimation and I already hold team sports in lower esteem, but I appreciate international sporting competitions, so I've been attempting to get up to date ahead of the world cup and the media ecosystem around soccer is rancid

The U.S. should never have been hosting the World Cup. Not only because they have little understanding of football culture ( which is ok) and keep trying to turn everything into a halftime show, but also because of the racism, discrimination,lack of infrastructure and the current state of the world. This World Cup just ain’t gonna hit the same. And that’s sad as hell. For the world, football is culture, passion and something people live and breathe. Feels like the whole vibe that makes the World Cup special is getting lost.😭
