@stevegalla83 @sean22309887 @UtdMicah So you’re swapping what you believe to be an unfair system (which absolutely isn’t unfair in any way)… ….to another unfair system that suits teams that have won the lottery with a rich owner??? Failing to see your logic here other than your team isn’t a big one???

Why are Newcastle allowed to finish 12th & spend more than Fulham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Everton, Brentford & Sunderland which they almost definitely will do this summer? It’s insane to me that people can’t differentiate league finish with how much money a club generates every year without fail. Newcastle just signed a shirt sponsorship for £20m a year. Tottenham’s is £40m a year. United’s is £60m a year. Extrapolate that gap in finances across all areas of the club & the financial gap is massive. Clubs who generate the most money can spend the most money, it’s not some conspiracy. Chelsea & City were cheats and that’s frustrating but you can’t just allow everyone to financially cheat for the rest of time because two clubs got away with it.
Tomo@twill_94

It’s why football will slowly die out. You’ve got Villa and Newcastle absolutely huge clubs and arguably on a par with Spurs, playing in Europe regularly not able to spend, but Spurs can finish x2 17th and spend what they want. Same with Man United. Broken system

@stevegalla83 @sean22309887 @UtdMicah So disregard years of success and good club management, with one super wealthy individual just to bankroll a previously poor run club? Doesn’t sound fair to me at all 🤷🏼‍♂️

Billionaires do not create jobs. Stop saying it. Without billionaires, we would still build things, design things, teach things, sell things, buy things. Billionaires capitalise profits. That's it.

@stevegalla83 @sean22309887 @UtdMicah Brighton and Bournemouth are on the right track. They’re probably punching above their weight as it is. That’s the point though, Villa and Newcastle have been run shit for many years - a few good years and ONE trophy each won’t change that overnight.

@JacobLuty @sean22309887 @UtdMicah Teams like Brighton and Bournemouth are extremely well ran but the current rules limit what they can achieve. Also Villa and Newcastle were both neglected for years by shit owners now they can’t close the gap.

@stevegalla83 @sean22309887 @UtdMicah Teams who are run well are the hog 6 though (excluding Chelsea and city). A couple of bad seasons for spurs or other teams shouldn’t completely reset their standing. They’ve had enough seasons near the top to have contingency and ability to bounce back.

@JacobLuty @sean22309887 @UtdMicah If there was a salary cap it wouldn’t. It would just mean the players would be spread around more evenly, and teams who are well ran would benefit. Is the quality of the PL that great when every year realistically only 2 or 3 teams can win it?

@sean22309887 @stevegalla83 @UtdMicah Agreed but they won’t because other nations are looking to catch up with the PL. We’d be shooting ourselves in the foot, purely on the jealousy and spite of fans from the so called smaller clubs. It’s pathetic crab mentality - “if I can’t have it, then they shouldn’t either”

@JacobLuty @stevegalla83 @UtdMicah Yes this is a good point as well. If we are going to go down that way then everyone in the football world needs to do that.

@stevegalla83 @sean22309887 @UtdMicah American sports franchise are incomparable to football around the world. The US has a closed system that doesn’t have to compete with other nations. That would not work with the PL as it would reduce the quality of the PL and fall behind other nation’s leagues.

@ToonArmyTalk @Jaycen_solo So you’re agreeing it’s a rich kid doing what they want because they have a rich dad? No I agree with what you’re saying - that’s a dreadful take and would ruin any form of sport. Newcastle winning 1 trophy in the last 70+ years isn’t because of the Big 6 🤷🏼‍♂️

@JacobLuty @Jaycen_solo Nope. I want owners to be allowed to spend when they are able to afford it. Acting like we would go into debt and go out of business when we are owned by a investment company that owns billions is silly. Wouldn't be spending beyond their means by spending the same as Big 6

It's very easy for big 6 clubs fans to say Villa And NUFC fans are complaining about PSR and claiming it's coz their clubs have better business models, all the while forgetting that their owners were able to spend what they want unchallenged by rules for years.

@ToonArmyTalk @Jaycen_solo So effectively you want a rich kid system? Whoever has the richest dad can spend the most? Basically just taking any sporting merit or strategic management out of football - richest owner wins?? Wow.

@Jaycen_solo Didn't act like we didn't spend. Unfortunately we had an owner that would not spend for 10 years in Mike Ashley. We now have an owner that could spend as much as every team in the league but as soon as they took over rules were put in place to stop any club from growing

@stevegalla83 @sean22309887 @UtdMicah See you’ve literally just contradicted yourself with that statement. So teams shouldn’t be able to invest what they want because of billionaire owners. They should only invest based upon the resources they have, which ultimately comes from their on field success/sporting merit.

@stevegalla83 @UtdMicah I don’t agree with how you’ve phrased that. What you’re doing is disregarding the 150 years of football prior to today, and saying it’s not fair that some teams are bigger and earn more than others. The bigger teams have earned that through success (barring Chelsea and City).

@JacobLuty @UtdMicah The scales are weighed in those clubs favour that’s the problem. It’s not a level playing field. In other sports like the NBA teams that don’t have global followings can and have won the title. It’s based on sporting merit not financial merit.

@stevegalla83 @UtdMicah How does it? Those clubs haven’t become big overnight. They’ve become big over decades of success and being a well run club. Just because United and spurs have a couple of really bad seasons (just one in United’s case) isn’t going to change the scales.

@UtdMicah The PL rules are a joke it gives 5 or 6 teams an advantage over the rest. There needs to be a rule that gives every club a realistic chance of competing, a bit like in American Sports global brand means fuck all it’s about competition.

Of course you’d use that excuse. But for me like i said i judge their skill. When lewis has a bad car he can’t do anything. When fernando has a bad car he can get 10x more out of it than lewis can. That’s a fact but you’re not gonna accept that because you’re a numbers driven fan not one that recognizes game.

@jm5296437885528 @RLZ87_ @MotorsportMP4 Give up with this one mate. He clearly doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about. Hamilton is levels above Alonso, levels. Funny how each team Hamilton goes to, they suddenly become competitive in his second year. Ham clearly knows how to setup up a race winning car 🤷🏼‍♂️

@RLZ87_ @MotorsportMP4 A driver who gets everything out of a car isn't 20 years behind a third title that he can't even see on the long straight at Baku. (Antonelli is 19 years old) F1, like everything in life, is about numbers; those who don't have them lack the competence to achieve them.

🚨🗣️New: Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Vinicius Junior refusing the mandatory halftime interview with FIFA at the World Cup: “People are shocked that Vinícius walked away from a halftime interview. I am shocked that anyone thinks he should have stopped in the first place. Halftime is not a television studio. Halftime is not a podcast. Halftime is not a red carpet. Halftime is the heartbeat of a football match. For 45 minutes, players are warriors in a storm. They run, they fight, they suffer, they bleed. Then they get 15 precious minutes to recover, to breathe, to listen, to think. And FIFA wants to spend part of that time chasing soundbites? That is like pulling a Formula 1 driver out of his car during a pit stop and asking him how the race is going. And FIFA’s idea is to shove a microphone in the player’s face and ask, ‘How do you feel?’ How do you think he feels? He’s exhausted. This is modern football’s biggest disease. Everything is content. Everything is sponsorship. Everything is television. The match hasn’t even finished and they’re already trying to manufacture headlines. They tell us they care about player welfare. Really? Then why are players playing more games than ever? Why are tournaments expanding? Why are injuries increasing? And now they want halftime interviews too? The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Halftime is sacred. It belongs to the players and the coaches. That’s where games are won. That’s where tactics change. That’s where injuries get treated. That’s where leaders speak. It is not a media circus. And don’t tell me this is for the fans. Fans want better football, not a tired player giving a robotic 20-second answer because somebody sold another broadcast package. Vinícius understood that. He chose football over public relations. The funniest part? They threaten him with a fine. A fine. As if that changes the principle. If I were there, I’d pay it too. Because some things are worth more than money. If FIFA really had their way, they’d put microphones in the dressing room and call it innovation. Football should come first. Not content. Not commercials. Not corporate greed. For once, a player pushed back. And that’s exactly why so many people are angry.”
