@RachelReevesMP it's fine if you want us to pay higher wages, more buisness NI, but you have to give something back and change something. VAT on hospitality is the highest in Europe, Ireland in Jan 2026 is lowering it to 9%

@RachelReevesMP if you Lowered VAT in Hopsitality then it would allow us to employ more staff, contributing more NI and PAYE tax Staff working creates more tax, also creates more spending on other areas. At the moment we are having to cut staff to bare bones.

@RachelReevesMP u need 2 do something about The VAT rate in hopsitality!!! It's killing the trade. Along with the extra buisness NI we now have 2 pay, & the increase on staff costs the trade is decimated!! U need to save the Hospitality sector it's the 3rd biggest sector in UK

The Budget @Jeremy_Hunt hasnt raised the threshold for tax since 2021 Meaning your actually getting more tax from people! Wages go up threshold stays the same=more tax VAT rate on hospitality is killing the trade along with all food,wages,general costs up You gave us nothing!!!

If @CumberlandCoun don't make the most of this then they all need thrown out. Carlisle's roman heritage should be what York is with its Viking heritage! Where is the exhibition centre gonna be? What time of year is the Roman march in the city gonna be?? All will bring tourism !!

10% vat in resturants in Spain. And the UK have 20%, surely dropping VAT down to a level which makes dining out in the UK more affordable would boost the economy!, would help us with employed rising costs. @Jeremy_Hunt @RishiSunak Hospitality minister is 100% needed
