@LW1307 Philosophy was one of the least woke departments in my college.

People can teach a course on something without treating it as gospel. Not to mention my philosophy advisor was a based libertarian. He wasn't into land, though, but we could have open and honest conversations about things like eugenics and race realism. No one was pushing nihilism at all.

If anyone deserves to be a trillionaire, it's Elon. And no, there's nothing wrong with the existence of trillionaires; it's not zero sum. You just have nothing to offer society yourself.

@LW1307 Hate to say it, people will never learn to develop proper arguments against something if they never learn it. Very L take regardless of where I stand on each individual philosophical position.

Incidentally if I had unquestioned authority over academia I would purge probably 50-75% of philosophy departments. Woke philosophy, gender grievance philosophy, humanism, atheism, existentialism, nihilism, reductive physicalism to explain theories of mind, trans-humanism, I would decline to allow student loan money to be used for such classes. If young people want to learn atheist materialism they can do it without taxpayer assistance. Philosophy would begin with the pre-Socratics, continue to Plato, then to Aristotle, and then to the Stoics, then on to Augustine, Aquinas, and through the Medievals to a handful of moderns.

I just read a basic wiki bio on Nick Land. He has a PhD in philosophy but from what I've read of his ideas, he's barely qualified to study philosophy let alone write and teach on it, and he's perhaps not even qualified to be a member of the human community on this planet. He seems to be a morally corrupt individual of the sort Plato wrote about in Republic 410A, those incurably diseased in the soul.
