As a Gen Xer, I can tell you boomers and even my own generation comparing their 20s to today’s 20-30 year-olds needs to stop. I paid $600 for a West Hollywood apartment at 23. Today it’s $3500. Burgers weren’t $20, they were $6 to $8 in a nice restaurant. Life is not comparable. It’s a completely different world now.

It pains me that Fargo lost the #Oscar for Best Picture to The English Patient. This film’s been front-of-mind all week given its 30th anniversary just hit, but man, the Coen Brothers should have two Best Pictures under their belt. This movie is 98 minutes of perfection.

@JasonKingHQ LOL… I agree there is definitely a difference between regional 1 hit wonders and worldwide ones. The Hats had 6 songs from 3 albums that charted in North America, but only 1 in the UK, so they are certainly a 1 hit wonder on your side of the ocean. Cheers.

@hausofmargo The worst thing with the Harry shows is that the high ticket prices are in addition to New York flights & hotels. Fans who don’t live in the area could be dropping $2000 or more to see him depending on the seats they get. Residencies only benefit the artist.

I don't think we as a society are complaining enough about ticket prices. I know this isnt breaking news for this tour but to charge a thousand dollars for lower bowl is so??? I don't even know a strong enough word for how insane it is

@JasonKingHQ I hated typing that because I love Madness & Dexys. But here in Canada, sadly most people could not name another song by them besides their one worldwide hit.

@JasonKingHQ When we’re discussing “worldwide” 1 hit wonders, minor UK success isn’t relevant. Neither Chumba or Toni ever had a hit or even charted in the US again. They had 1 worldwide hit. Our House & Come On Eileen are considered 1 hit wonder songs in North America for the same reason.

I came up with what I thought was the ultimate name for a dog groomer: “Hairy Styles.” Then I did a search and found out that someone had already thought of that.

@JasonKingHQ There are actually plenty of worldwide 1 hit wonders have a global hit and then nothing. Not just in one country. Mickey by Toni Basil & Tubthumping by Chumbawamba are good examples. Top 10 in the U.S., U.K. & around the world and then nothing.

Girard-Solovyov was excellent tonight Letang-Shea? Not so much. It's unfortunate but it seems like the Girard pick up is really to replace Letang, I don't think he has another year in him
