Spotted in DC: DHS officers (likely detailed to ICE) making traffic stops in DC with duct taped license plates. They are being accompanied by @dcpolicedept. From what I saw, they pulled over a man (who appeared to be Black), made him get out of his car, searched it, then let him go. Unclear whether they wrote him a ticket, but clearly wasn’t undocumented like they hoped. Looked like they were just fishing for arrests. DC taxpayers—who are denied representation federally—are helping fund an authoritarian regime’s “show me your papers” agenda. Pathetic.
