What many independent restaurants in Alberta are doing for Jasper evacuees defines hospitality. Respect to all those businesses trying to ease a sliver of the pain in this tragedy. Small business is community. Food is love.

@NSAT22 Oh man. I sent a couple packs of ciders from one store to another a couple months ago and driver never showed. Wouldn’t answer. Uber told me to file charges if I wanted to. I’m still salty.

There is an outrageous amount of fraud with 3P delivery services. More now then ever. Restaurants are getting fleeced with “missing item” & tech glitches on their end. Would love to see some sort of investigation into this.

We had a similar discussion last holiday dinner. We spend so much time on the food, finally have all our family here & boom 20 mins done! What we decided was to actually serve it by course, get the kids to help deliver and stretch it out for an hour or so to TALK to each other!

@Ernieiceman That building isn’t designed to meet the concession needs at capacity given the habits of the modern event goer. 50 yrs ago - different story. Yes it was awful but not much you can do.

How much money did the Oilers/NHL/NHLPA lose out on because the concession/merchandising didn’t scale well to match demand in the Heritage Classic? Myself, I am guessing a million. Concourse felt like one giant bottleneck. Lines moved very, very slow where you were missing game if you stuck it out. It is important to acknowledge scaling for one off events are very hard. The question is not based on assigning blame, more about general interest in big events, how to scale effectively to maximize profit.
