for people who think i have some bias against crimson desert, the opposite is true. i was hyping this game up in 2022 and interviewed the studio. i liked black desert and a single player version of it was a dream game! i still want to like CD so ill be playing more

Crimson Desert reviews to 78 Metacritic, 80 OpenCritic. Reviews commend its open world exploration and combat, but quest design, quality of life, UI, inventory management etc get knocked. Black Myth WuKong was one of my fave games of 2024 and is 81 on Meta, so still excited.

Crimson Desert is sitting at 78 on Metacritics right now. - Vice gave it 100, Forbes gave it 95 - TheGamer gave it a 70, and IGN gave it a 60 (so far) I watched a handful of youtubers review it, and so far this is what is shaking out of the review tree: - Amazing open world - Sense of wonder/awe - Frustrating controls and bugs (for some) So far, it is sounding like an amazing experience, stuffed with things to do, but whose junkiness can detract from it.

Since there were a lot of mentions that Crimson Desert looked like what Dragon’s Dogma 2 should’ve been. Crimson Desert currently has a lower Metacritic score (77) than Dragon’s Dogma 2 (86).
